Architecture Studio Website
Intended audience
Residential and commercial clients looking for a contemporary architecture firm; property developers evaluating potential studio relationships.
Problem explored
Architecture studio websites often fall into two traps: overdesigned portfolios that obscure practical information, or generic agency templates that fail to express the studio's design sensibility.
Product goals
- Express the studio's architectural voice through the website's own design language
- Make project work browsable with clear category and scale filtering
- Provide editorial space for studio thinking and longer-form writing
- Create a clear, low-friction inquiry path for prospective clients
Project scope
- Brand-led art direction and visual design
- Project portfolio and editorial content structure
- Headless CMS setup and content modelling
- Front-end build, performance, and accessibility
Design approach
Dark surfaces, precise type, and generous image treatment. The project grid is intentionally asymmetric - each project thumbnail is sized by significance, not algorithmic equality. Studio writing lives in a separate editorial section with long-form formatting.
Technical approach
Statically generated from a headless CMS with incremental revalidation. Images served via a CDN with automatic format detection and responsive sizing. Accessibility-first navigation and focus management.
Intended outcomes
These are design intentions from a concept project, not measured results.
- Intended to position the studio as design-led in a market dominated by traditional practice websites
- Editorial section designed to support SEO and direct organic discovery
- Inquiry form designed to pre-qualify projects and reduce inappropriate briefs
